The spectacular work created under the direction of Zhang Yimou for the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony has earned Spinifex a reputation as leaders in the delivery of experience media for major global events.

For the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Spinifex stepped back onto the world stage with their partner David Atkins to deliver a unique AV spectacle for the opening and closing ceremonies.

The vision for the Vancouver Opening Ceremony was to create an intimate, theatrical ceremony with projection taking the place of traditional large sets and props. This vision led to the most technically complex and challenging projection projects ever undertaken.

Spinifex spent over a year working on content that had to sync over various surfaces and aspect ratios. The content was also required to work in conjunction with physical elements, combining two-dimensional reality with third-dimensional effects. The result was an immersive world of fantasy that was broadcast to viewing audiences around the globe.
