APEC Leaders Week Meeting

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) relied on GPJ to provide a worthy environment for high-stake meetings during the organization’s Leaders Week in Sydney.

The event brought together the heads of state of 21 member economies with the intent to advance mutual economic cooperation, trade and investment, and to produce a signed commitment to collaborate on issues ranging from environmental policy to regional economic integration. The substantial topics, intense international scrutiny, tight security measures, high-profile attendees and delivery constraints required an understated, yet elegant setting.

Reporting into the APEC Taskforce, 65 GPJ executive producers, project managers, directors, designers and coordinators produced a two-day summit at the Sydney Opera House, two leader retreats and gala dinners, and landmark cultural and entertainment performances featuring over 200 performers.

The event validated members’ commitment to the ongoing growth of the organization. But Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, put it best - “The best APEC event ever.”
