GPJ is looking for a Talent & Culture Manager to support our Smyrna, TN office and implement human resources and company-wide initiatives at the local level.  In this role, you will act as a trusted adviser and leader in the office, offer solutions to executive and senior management, and advocate for our employees. GPJ is proud to be filled with passionate, collaborative team members, so if this sounds like you, read on!

This role is hybrid and will report to our office a minimum of 2 days/week.

Our Opportunity

We are looking for the right human resources professional to be an extension of the management team, someone that is a part of the solution, not just the executor of programming. In other words, someone who wants to learn our business, understands our needs and can offer true point of view and valuable insights.

Who You Are & What You Will Bring

You are a human resource professional: You have a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of human resources generalist experience in a service-oriented business.  Experience working in advertising or marketing industries is a big plus. Your previous roles and experience have been varied and versatile, not administrative from behind a desk. You are a people person and are curious by nature, always trying to understand, to find a solution, to figure out how to be more efficient, more creative, or more strategic. You withhold judgement and have an open mind.

You are a relationship builder: An “open door policy” doesn’t begin to describe your accessibility to the business and the people that support it. You have been in the weeds when required to better understand the needs of the business, and your people like and trust you for it. You are in the know because you are present and available. You strive to develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with all 150+ employees in these offices.

You are a trusted partner: While you sometimes need to be in the weeds, you easily elevate to meet and partner with your management team. Because of your credibility, your passion for the business and its people, you are consistently viewed as a valuable resource to all that work with you.

You are business-minded: At the local level, you understand the nuances of each leader’s role and the potential frustrations or hurdles that accompany them. You actively work with the local leadership to identify those obstacles and offer coaching and guidance.  At the corporate level, you understand the business models of GPJ and your local clients – you follow news updates, experiential industry trends, human resource initiatives – and you are prepared to discuss with your management team.  You are continually looking for ways to improve how we work.

You are flexible: You are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and have a “Can Do” attitude. You are open to pitching in and being a team player, even if a task is administrative.  You understand that you may be required to work irregular hours, nights and weekends, etc. as dictated by business demands.

You read that “employee-owned” part, right? You heard us correctly. You work hard, she works hard, we all work hard… we all succeed and reap the rewards. We have an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) – providing our employees with an ownership interest. We thought you would want to know that. In fact, there is a lot more you would want to know about us, like our FTO policy (no more “accruing” time off), our employer matching 401(k) plan (no vesting period), our “no employee contribution” healthcare option. But we are getting ahead of ourselves here, let’s talk about this this exciting opportunity first and we can fill you in on our perks & benefits later.
