At GPJ, we don’t just create experiences; we design, engineer, and build some of the biggest and most impactful experiences in the world. This is where cutting-edge creativity meets flawless execution, making GPJ an incredibly exciting and dynamic place to work. In this unique role, you will be instrumental in building the internal tools and platforms that empower our teams to craft these unforgettable experiences. We believe the true magic lies in the human interaction and the seamless link between people and technology, and we’re looking for someone equally passionate about optimizing the experience of technology itself, ensuring a profound and intuitive interaction between our people and the innovative technology solutions they use daily.
Overview:
We’re looking for a highly curious and hands-on Automation and AI Integration Specialist to join our Technology & Innovation practice. This is a unique opportunity for a true ‘maker’ and ‘tinkerer’ who thrives on figuring things out, pushing technological boundaries, and is a passionate experimenter in the AI space. As a key technology implementer, you will design, prototype, and build custom automation and AI solutions that drive efficiency and unlock new capabilities across our enterprise. This includes implementing the first phases of our AI pilot initiatives, incorporating both traditional AI/ML and generative AI into business processes. A critical aspect of this role will be determining when custom development is appropriate, when to leverage existing automation tools (such as Workato), or when a hybrid approach is best. This role requires strong development skills, a deep understanding of development environments and processes, and the flexibility to work with a variety of programming languages and integration tools, including extensive use of APIs and the development of custom Slack applications that serve as a central interface for many of our automated efforts.
You will rock this job if you:
- Are deeply curious with an insatiable drive to understand how enterprise tools, automation, and AI can be leveraged and improved.
- Are a natural problem-solver with an eagerness to understand how things work and how they can be improved.
- Are a true ‘maker’ or ‘tinkerer’, who loves to build, experiment, and bring new technological concepts to life.
- Are a passionate experimenter in the AI space, excited to prototype and implement solutions using both traditional AI/ML and generative AI.
- Thrive in ambiguity, possess a keen ability to “figure things out,” and can independently navigate complex technical challenges.
- Embrace an iterative model of development, moving seamlessly from proof-of-concept to pilot, to broader pilot, and ultimately to full launch.
- Are scrappy and resourceful, able to quickly push out solutions that are fairly buttoned up and ready for testing, while also possessing the foresight and capability to drive longer-term projects that build solid, scalable foundations within an Enterprise architecture. You know when to choose which route and how to communicate effectively around that decision.
- Enjoy working on cutting-edge technologies and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automation and integration.
- Possess strong development skills and are comfortable working with, or rapidly learning, a variety of programming languages and technical environments.
- Are highly flexible and adaptable, able to shift focus between diverse projects and technologies.
- Are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders, developers, and external partners.
- Are driven by the desire to create measurable business value through innovative technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement custom automation solutions and integrations across various enterprise systems to streamline business processes and enhance efficiency.
- Lead the technical implementation of AI pilot initiatives, including integrating both traditional AI/ML models and generative AI capabilities into workflows and applications.
- Develop, test, and deploy robust code in enterprise software environments, demonstrating strong proficiency in development processes and best practices.
- Utilize and manage APIs extensively to connect disparate systems and build seamless data flows, including the development of Slack applications and integrations to serve as intuitive user interfaces for automated processes.
- Configure and optimize workflow automation tools (e.g., Workato), to create complex and scalable automated processes, while also assessing the suitability of custom development versus leveraging existing platforms.
- Prototype and experiment with new and emerging technologies, quickly assessing their potential for business value and guiding their initial adoption.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, our Business Analyst/Project Manager, and internal/external developer partners to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure successful project delivery.
- Troubleshoot and debug technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of implemented solutions.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in automation, AI (including generative AI), and integration technologies, actively bringing new ideas and approaches to the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3-7 years of hands-on experience in software development, technical implementation, or integration engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C#) with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new languages as needed.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise software development within an organizational context, including understanding of development life cycles, testing, and deployment best practices.
- Deep understanding of API design and consumption (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, etc.) for system integration.
- Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Workato).
- Familiarity with Slack API and app architecture is essential, with experience in developing Slack bots, integrations, or custom applications.
- Familiarity with various development environments, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks or libraries or working with generative AI APIs/models is highly desirable.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a “figure it out” mentality and a strong aptitude for independent research and learning.
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability, comfortable working on diverse technical challenges in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
