There’s something pretty special about gathering with fellow creatives before 9 am, coffee in hand, minds wide open and ready to be inspired. On August 29th, we got to do exactly that as GPJ Austin welcomed creatives from across the city to gather, connect, and be inspired around the Creative Mornings/ATX theme: Nomad.

After fueling up on cold brew and tacos, the program began on a high note with a moving musical performance by Jessica Healey, whose soulful sound set a warm and reflective tone for the event. Guests then had the opportunity to hear from the featured speaker, Michael Tabie, a celebrated designer and storyteller whose thought-provoking talk explored the idea of creative identity in motion, and what it means to build a life and career without borders. You can watch his full talk on the Creative Mornings site.

One of our favorite parts of the morning was getting to show off the space we call home. GPJ Creative Director Nat Wittstruck led a tour of the artwork around the office, a curated collection of work exclusively by Central Texas artists. From bold murals to small, personal pieces, the collection reflects the region’s creative energy and serves as a daily source of inspiration for our team.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped bring the morning to life, including One Uptown, where our office is located, and to Brandywine, the building’s management team, for their continued support. And a big thank you to photographer Nick Berard and videographer Marty Robbins for capturing the energy of the day so beautifully.
Hosting CreativeMornings/ATX was more than just sharing a space, it was a chance to connect with the community, be reminded of the creative spirit that makes Austin so special, and why we do what we do: to connect people, spark ideas, and celebrate creativity in all its forms. Until next time, ATX!
